Gnistskydd - Tre Kronor i Brand

Shower power

Did you ever think about how boring showers look? Well, now ClearShower has designed a brilliant shower head that looks like a flower. Made in acrylic and it measures 370 mm across which is really big! It mixes water and air which is supposed to feel like standing in soft rain. It comes in three models Flower, circle and square. So next time i renovate maybe this will be the coice.

At home with Anna Sui

In this months issue of Elle Decor they have paid a visit to the home of fashion designer Anna Sui. A home that ouzes personal style and is unconventional with lots of attention paid to details. Above is a picture from her stude that among other things has a live size peacock. Look at the antiqued mirrored wall that enlarges the entire room.
Her bathroom speaks for itself really. I like the american way of putting wallpaper in the bathroom. Something swedes should consider as well in my humble opinin. Don´t make them too sterile but add personality. After all you spend a considerable amount of time in there so why not make it in to a room you love;-)

Wallpaper by Kicki Edgren Nyborg

When Kicki Edgren Nyborg graduated from HDK in Gothenburg she created three dimensional wallpaper for her degree project. The wallpaper has been divided into three concepts on the theme Alive. This is what the designer says about her wallpaper:

"“WallPlay” is a children’s wallpaper and consists of wallpaper backgrounds and stickers in various themes. The wall becomes a new place to play, tell stories and learn. “Off the Wall” consists of two components and there is wallpaper and a 3dimensional form that is mounted over the wallpaper. The result is that the wallpaper seems to have life, bulges and rolls and these forms become shelves and lamps. “Trans Wall” consists of five different wallpaper related to each other. What distinguishes the patterns is their intensity and form. The wallpaper highlights and intensifies parts of the wall which creates movement and direction in the room."

Design Amsterdam

The entrance at Lloyds Hotel. Former juvenile prison turned into a sleek design hotel
This is the restaurant which serves some excellent food.
At Moooi they had a special event around Swedish antique furniture which was interesting to take part of. Bit pricy but thats what you get when exporting stuff i suppose.
Here´s visiting Pols Potten. Fun and quirky stuff.

A different grip on a dresser...At Droog
Awesome knitted pouffs at the Frozen Fountain

The design scene is fun and interesting. They are not conformists and choose to do as they please. Which i love. Went to Droog, Moooi, The Frozen Fountain, Pols Potten and Lloyd Hotel, to mention a few great places to see. But inspiration is really just around the corner in Amsterdam.
